Description
INDOOR ONLY. He's 4 years old, weighs approx. 5kg, half Maine Coon and half Turkish Angora.
Only previous health issues were dental, he had two teeth removed in November but no issues since. Chipped, wormed, jabbed, neutered. Up to date with everything, has been regularly seen by the vet since kittenhood.
Great pet for working adults, no young children or other pets, he loves (adult) visitors though, likes to interact with new people. Ideally you've had cats before, but even if not, he's easy.
He doesn't bite, plays well with toys, loves attention on his terms (might visit your bed in the mornings for snuggles, he's used to full access to every room), only scratches accidentally.
Loud purrer and sometimes vocal (usually likes to announce to the household that he's about to use the toilet), loves to hear his own voice. He needs (and LOVES) daily brushing.
Will cheekily try to get out. He's never been an outdoor cat so wouldn't be able to fend for himself, but has experience with going for walks on a leash in a quiet area, not so much busy parks or roadsides (maybe a garden would be good, or a local churchyard).
He's not used to having his claws clipped if that's something you expect to do. He gets cat grass on occassion and his main food is IAMS hairball treatment, since he's longhaired. He still loves IAMS kitten food, so you might want to mix that in to encourage eating if he seems reluctant. He's a grazer, and used to having dry food available at all times, but also enjoys a pouch of Harrington's wet food (we offer it once every morning but it's not necessary at all and can just be offered on occasion as it suits you).
He will be rehomed with ALL his possessions (food, brush, extra large cat toilet [17inch x 23inch] plus wooden pellets for litter, his favourite carrier, favourite toys, catnip spray), including a cat tree made for big cats: an RHR Quality Corner Coon - 150cm/4.9ft high, bottom panel is 65cm/2.1ft x 55cm/1.8ft.
Please make sure you have room to place this tree in front of a secure, cat-proof window so he can be entertained.
He's a big climber, please be aware that he absolutely will be looking for high spaces. So wardrobes, shelves etc., must be secured or made available as you choose.
Rehoming because we have a high-anxiety special needs cat, he's become increasingly upset with her for not responding the way he wants her to. This is not an easy decision we've come to at all, he's very much been a part of our family. So no time wasters, please.
Since there is a lot of big stuff you will need a vehicle. We cannot deliver but would visit if not too far, if you need help settling him in.
