Meet Benji, a truly lovely young boy who was rescued as a small puppy from a public shelter.
He didn’t have the easy start every pup deserves, but what’s so special about Benji is this: his heart stayed soft.
Now safe in a private shelter, Benji is quietly hoping for the one thing he has never known —
a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe and begin his real life.
Benji isn’t a dog who demands attention.
He’s the kind who gently draws you in —
a shy wag of his tail, a hopeful look, a softness that touches you without words.
📏 Size
Approx. 40 cm at the shoulder (can be measured precisely on request).
🐾 Looks & possible mix
Benji has the elegant, slim build often seen in lurcher or whippet mixes, with just a hint of terrier alertness that gives him a spark of curiosity.
His glossy black coat, white chest and fine legs give him a graceful, almost poetic silhouette.
He is, quite simply, a very handsome young dog.
💛 Personality
Benji is kind, gentle and affectionate.
When meeting new people, he likes to take a moment to observe first — not because he is difficult, but because he is thoughtful and sensitive. Once he feels safe, his true nature shines through:
loyal, loving and deeply connected to his people.
He gets along wonderfully with other dogs. A calm canine companion could give him extra confidence, though this is absolutely not essential if his adopters offer him warmth, time and reassurance.

Friends InDeed is a registered UK charity. A home check (online if needed) is required for every adoption.
We place our dogs only with genuine dog lovers who have a private garden and no children under 10.
Our dogs are family companions — not working, therapy or assistance dogs.
After adoption, we stay available for support. WhatsApp or phone is easiest, and we can arrange a video call if you’d like to meet Benji “live”.
We are a transparent rescue actively involved in spay/neuter projects and placing dogs into permanent, loving homes.
Adoption fees/donations may vary depending on circumstances.
We have over 500 happy UK families who can provide references.
