Meet Benji, a beautifully soft young lad who was rescued from the public shelter as a tiny pup.
He didn’t get the carefree start he deserved, but despite everything, his heart has stayed gentle.
Now safe in a private shelter, he’s quietly hoping for the one thing he’s never had:
a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe and begin his real life.
Benji is the kind of dog who doesn’t shout for attention — he whispers it.
A shy little tail wag… a hopeful glance… the softness of a boy who wants so badly to trust.
📏 Size
Around 40 cm at the shoulder (can be measured exactly on request).
🐾 Appearance & possible mix
Benji has the elegant, slim build often seen in lurcher/whippet-type mixes, with a touch of terrier adding a spark of alertness.
His shiny black coat, white chest and fine legs give him a graceful silhouette — he truly is a beautiful young dog.

Benji is a sweet, gentle and sensitive boy.
At first he likes to take things slowly, quietly observing before he steps forward — not because he’s “difficult”, but because he’s young and tender.
With kindness, he blossoms.
And once he feels safe, he becomes affectionate, loyal and deeply connected to his people.
He gets along wonderfully with other dogs. A calm, friendly companion could help him feel secure, though this is absolutely not required if his adopters have time and warmth for him.

Friends InDeed is a registered UK charity. A home check (online if needed) is required for every adoption.
We place our dogs only with genuine dog lovers who have a private garden and no children under 10.
Our dogs are family companions — not working, therapy or assistance dogs.
We stay in touch after adoption to support you. WhatsApp or phone is easiest; we can also arrange a video call if you’d like to “meet” Benji live.
We are a transparent rescue involved in spay/neuter projects and placing dogs into permanent, loving homes.
Adoption fees/donations may vary depending on circumstances.
We have over 500 happy families who can provide references on request.
