Description

Please read full ad. 1 year old purebred staffy bitch. I purchased 2 bitches from a re-home situation and drove 3.5 hours to collect them, I was told the dogs were excellent with other dogs and children. Having brought the dogs home, one (the one advertised), was extremely anxious and particularly frightened of men. She was frightened of my 2 year old, but did come around and would happily potter around the house alongside her, but she growled at my daughter when she was in a crate, and has since growled at my daughter when she was out of the crate and my daughter was excitedly laughing. I no longer trust her around small children, I believe this is due to a sheltered up bringing, but I have only had her 2 weeks so it's a guessing game. The trigger seems to be unusual noises such as hitch pitched laughing or screaming from children, it appears to be a fear response. She is extremely friendly with females and absolutely loves a cuddle on the couch and walks well on the lead, I've tested her with 2 dogs, one a neutered male and one a spayed female and she got along with them fine, very confident with dogs but perhaps a bit much at times. Id only trust her with calm children aged 12+ that are dog savvy. Of course this is at the buyers discretion, however I will not sell her to a home with young children. Please note she is currently in heat at the moment so obviously is not spayed. I do not recommend breeding from this dog, although I believe her behaviour is environmental not genetic it's best not to regardless as there's no definite. Her parents were kennel club registered, I saw the pedigree myself however she was not registered. Price is to recoup a bit of what I paid for her and the 7 hour round trip and to better ensure a good home. Please message with any questions.
