Description

Cody is a 10 year old medium sized mixed breed, though you’d think he was just a pup if you met him! He certainly thinks so! Unfortunately he has been with us for over 260 days now. He has had a tough time over the last year, while we don’t know his full story this is the history we’ve pieced together: Cody was brought to us by the dog warden after being found as a stray. He has been in our kennels for months waiting for a family that has never come back for him, and he became increasingly  shut down because of this. He now with one of our wonderful fosterers, and has come out of his shell so much. From how he acts in the home (perfectly!) but struggles outside, we think Cody may have lived most of his life inside. Cody, is such a lovely boy in the house. He has impeccable manners, always sitting politely for his tea to be served & asking before joining you on the sofa. He’s at his happiest when warm & with people (so his dream is to be tucked up under your duvet!). He’d also love a big, secure garden for his ball! As you can see from his photos, Cody is a fashion icon! He loves wearing his jumpers & jackets both inside & outside of the home to keeps him feeling cosy! Especially coming into winter, we can all empathise with how he feels! Cody struggles outside, we don’t think he was ever socialised as a pup and as such the world can be a bit of a scary place for him. Meeting dogs & hearing loud noises can just be a bit much for him, though we do think his confidence would improve with training. We know it’s a big ask, but Cody deserves the best, his ideal life is being with an owner as much as possible (wether helping you work from home or making the most out of your retirement). He’s a proper home body, and would like a quiet life (he’s certainly not suited to the city!) somewhere where he can have minimal meetings with other dogs until he has had a bit of training, just to allow him to relax. Cody can’t be rehomed with cats, but would love to live with older children or teens (all the more attention for him!) If you think you might be able to offer Cody the home he needs, we’d love to chat with you and arrange an initial meeting.
