Description
NORMAN the puppy is in the care of LURCHER LINK RESCUE
Norman is a 14-week-old male lurcher
Norman is currently living in the house at Lurcher Link Rescue headquarters.
‼ Norman is a typical normal sighthound puppy of this age - VERY bouncy, jumpy and energetic; and VERY mouthy and nippy (with tiny but sharp baby teeth). Anyone who has experience of sighthound puppies will be familiar with Norman’'s behaviour - he can be a VERY trying little hooligan, racing around stealing items, jumping on and off the furniture, chewing, jumping up and mouthing / nipping anything in sight including your arms, hands and legs (Think whirlwind land shark!) Any potential adopter will need a lot of patience and tolerance and to understand that puppies need considerable time and input. (We will not rehome Norman with small children because of this)
✅Norman is used to being crated (Lurcher Link Rescue headquarters accommodates several "unrehomeable" dogs who have behavioural issues, so for his own sake Norman needs to have his safe space)
✅Toilet-trained. Norman is already asking to be let out when he needs the toilet.
✅ Norman has met the house-cat and just wants to play. With careful supervision Norman could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat.
✅Norman is getting used to wearing a harness and lead
✅Norman can live with other dogs. His ideal home would have one or two steady older dogs to learn from.
Norman loves his food and has learnt to sit for a reward.
‼ Norman is already showing every sign of being typical of a long-dog type lurcher; he's unlikely to have much inclination to be biddable and keen-to-please, but has the attitude of "what's in it for me?". He also can be very vocal and good at expressing his opinion about everything. If you've not familiar with this type of dog please make sure you have done your research so you know what you are letting yourself in for before applying!
‼ Norman will need a secure garden to run around and let off steam.
❌Norman is not suitable to live with people who are out at work all day.
NOTE - we are a rescue, we are not the breeder of this puppy, nor do we have a picture of his mother. However the inflexible nature of "Pets4Homes" adverts does not allow for rescue situations, so to advertise Norman we have had to tick the "breeder" box. Norman came to us from a family because the young child in the family would not leave Norman alone and he was starting to nip.
