Description
Rafa is a very good-natured, playful, very very very cuddly, loving dog who is great with other dogs and adults but needs a home with no children since he snapped at a young child in his present home who jumped on him by mistake. His adopters are lovely and are heartbroken but have made the sensible decision that they can't take any risks since their little boy is a bit of a whirlwind and it could happen again.
He is 58cm to the withers and 67cm from nose to bottom.
He was found in an abandoned farmhouse in Spain at 6 months of age and rescued by somebody who didn't have time for him and who kept him in a crate most of the time. From there he went to a person who did have time for him and who socialised him and turned him into the easy-going boy he is today. He then spent time in kennels with lots of other dogs before being re-homed in the UK.
He is an active boy looking for an active home with decent daily walks. He is incredibly affectionate and has been described by his adopters as the cuddliest dog they've ever known. He is doing very well with his training. He's a bright boy and eager to learn.
He is an only dog currently and could be an only dog again but we think he'd really love to live with another friendly dog or dogs.
He is currently In Warwickshire
More info from his current owner
"Since Rafa came into our lives, we’ve all fallen for him. He’s a goofy, affectionate boy who loves nothing more than curling up next to you (or on you, if you let him). His signature move is resting his head on your shoulder for a proper cuddle. Out on walks, he runs with his tongue hanging out the side like he’s having the time of his life—he’s a bit daft in the best way.
Rafa is very smart and been doing so well with his training, he’s house-trained, has passed his obedience classes, and knows all the basics like sit, down, leave, and loose lead walking (especially if there are treats involved). He has good recall in dog parks and safe walks, but he must not be off lead near livestock, he gets overexcited and wants to chase and bark at them.
He’s sociable with other dogs and plays with real enthusiasm, so he’d love a home where he gets regular dog park time or canine pals to romp with. He’s generally fine to be left alone for a few hours after a good walk.
He thrives in the company of adults, whether that’s a chilled café outing or lounging in a pub garden. He’ll roll over for belly rubs from anyone willing to give him a moment of attention.
Rafa is not good with cats and has a strong chase instinct.
Rafa will make a brilliant dog for someone who wants a goofy, loving, and affectionate friend—ideally with some experience and a calm, cat- and child-free home."
