Description
NELSON’s mother was probably abandoned when her irresponsible owner realised she was pregnant… that is what some horrible individuals do there - rather than having their dogs neutered…
She was found in the middle of nowhere, together with her 5 puppies. After spending a few months in a fellow rescuer’s care, we managed to happily rehome all of them, including the mother - MAE ; please see a couple of photos of MAE, attached here.
NELSON was fully vaccinated and we’ve had him neutered, too.
He is house trained and walks well on a lead.
NELSON is friendly with people and with other dogs.
Due to family change of circumstances, NELSON’s adopter contacted us recently to take him back. We are closely keeping in touch with them as they love him very much. More (non confidential) details - on request.
Here are some info / suggestions from his last owner :
“Nelson needs someone that is home a lot and/or that can take him everywhere with them, maybe someone working from home would be best, but not an older retired person as he might be too strong on the lead for them. A person that runs would be great as they’d be able to run his energy off.
I think he may be best to be the only dog in the house so that all attention is on him.
He is very very good with other dogs and wants to say hello to every one of them but this can lead to him bouncing around like a kangaroo on the lead so you’ll need strength to keep him in control.
He likes to escape too, so be very careful of open doors and lower windows!
Otherwise he’s just gorgeous and cuddly.
I’ll miss him hugely and can only wish that things had turned out better. Maisie is a reactive dog on her lead and this has made Nelson bounce around even more over the past week so I tried walking them separately but this did not work either as Nelson kept escaping out the door when it was Maisie’s turn for a walk so returning him is about all I could do 😞 😢”.
We think he is an Italian Hound mix breed, but we haven’t done a DNA test. His sister - BISCUIT had it and the results (attached here) came quite … funny.
NELSON is a very light weight boy : only 14 Kg… He is eating very well, though and he is very healthy.
You can meet him any day, anytime, in our place - NG14 6NY, but we should also be able to bring him, as well as any of our other dogs, anywhere in the country and you don’t have to pay a penny until you have him.
Friends InDeed is a registered Charity.
Home-Check (even done online, at times) is mandatory.
We do NOT supply dogs to non-genuine Dog-Loving people. There are all kind out there... can’t be too careful !
You must have your own garden and no children under 10 years old to adopt a dog from our rescue.
We do not supply work, assistance or service dogs, regardless of what noble/moral it would be ! Should you adopt him, NELSON will reside as a PET in your Home and he will be well looked-after and loved !
You will also agree to keep in touch with us - so we can help with any issues.
Our preferred method of contact is over the phone or WhatsApp - as we work during the day, with limited access to emails ; it is also more expedient - we can exchange most information in one go. We can also have a video-chat - for you to see NELSON live, before meeting him.
We are a 100% genuine and transparent Rescue and are doing substantial efforts to save these lives. We reserve the right to ask any / different price / donation for our rescue dogs - depending on circumstances. In most cases, we are not covering the costs !
We keep in touch with all adopters (more than 500 families, so far). On request, we can obtain & provide good references from any of them.
We receive a high number of pointless messages or calls and we do not afford wasting time…
Therefore, Please, Please - NO TIMEWASTERS !
Thank You !
Adrian & Maria
