Rhue is a powerful, intelligent, independent dog who needs an urgent home due to being made homeless. He is not suitable for busy households, or inexperienced owners. He can live amongst other dogs with ease, but does not like overly pushy and rude dogs.
He shows livestock guardian type traits: territorial instincts, environmental awareness, and decision making independence. Because of this, he does not cope well in high pressure pet environments with expectations of constant attention, being in pubs or cafes, or going to daycare.
What Rhue does need:
A quiet home
An experienced handler (guardian breeds, working dogs, or similar)
Low visitor traffic, or a management heavy home
Strong boundaries
Calm, structured handling
Someone confident setting limits without confrontation
Rhue is not suitable for:
Children
Bust parks
Novice owners
Constant social pressure
Rhue is loyal, deeply bonded to his handler, and thrives with clear expectations and space. In the right environment, he is settled, observant, and purposeful.
This is a direct rehome. I'm happy to discuss him openly with anyone who genuinely believes they may be a fit.
Rhue would be highly suited for a guard dog, deterrent dog, or yard dog role. He can live in or out. he does need an urgent home who understands I cannot take him back.
