Meet Astro!
Unfortunately due to being made homeless, we are finding ourselves in a position where we are having to rehome our two dogs, Astro and Pluto.
This is an advert for Astro only.
Astro has just turned a year old on the 6th of August. He isn't neutered, however he is microchipped and up to date with vaccinations - he is due his booster in October.
Astro has previously had a surgery to remove sharp objects that he has swallowed. He has also had his stomach pumped after chewing open a jar of nutella and chewing open a tub of chow mein.
Because of this, when leaving him alone we "astro-proof" the house... this means putting anything away / out of reach that may harm him.
He has on occasion jumped up and stood on top of the kitchen side, which is how he got to the dangerous things.
I'm being honest in order to find him the best home that would love him for him, as well as keep him safe and well looked after.
He loves to sleep a lot (typical lurcher) but will also go on long walks and go off-lead. We are reinforcing his recall on every walk, which means bringing a treat bag.
He loves to play fetch with balls and sticks, and he loves squeaky toys and chewing on rope toys.
He is so gentle with well behaved children, and my four year old nephew loves him.
He is nervous around shouting and loud noises, it will cause him to hide and be scared.
He gets on well with other dogs, however is quite excitable with them, so personality and play style compatibility needs to be thought about if he's being rehomed to a home with another dog.
When greeting someone he is prone to jumping up, although we are working on this and he is learning to get a toy during that period of high energy, and it is going well.
He is such a sweet, loving boy, who's favourite thing to do is cuddle up next to you on the sofa.
Even though its an urgent rehome due to circumstances, I'm just hoping to find his perfect home that will love him as much as we do.
