Description
This listing is for 6 fertile hatching eggs laid by true blue bearded silkies. All the birds in the photos are ours. These chickens are known for their sweet temperament and fluffy appearance, and are quite sociable once they get used to you.
Our eggs will be protectively wrapped in bubble wrap, packed in purpose built polystyrene egg boxes and further cushioned/boxed to give them the best chance in the postal system. Please do bear in mind though that while the eggs are very carefully and protectively packaged they are sent through the post where their handling is out of our control. Please rest the eggs pointed end down for 24 hours on reception.
If you are not happy to take this risk please consider collection instead (@£27).
Our eggs are collected twice daily. We try to dispatch within 4 days, though we only post Monday to Friday and occasionally we exceed the dispatch time as we prefer eggs to be dispatched within 6 days of being laid. Eggs are dispatched via courier for £5.99. This is included in the listed price and priced at cost: £4.59 for Royal Mail Tracked 24 hour collection service and £1.40 to cover protective packaging.
FERTILITY GUARANTEE: We have maintained a 100% fertility rate this year for our sittings and so are comfortable offering a fertility guarantee.
We will refund infertile eggs if these steps are followed:
1. Candle the eggs day 10 - if no sign of development, take a photo of it and then break it open on a plate.
2. Take a 2nd photo of the open egg together with the shell/writing.
3. Share the photos and if we can see it is our egg and infertile we will issue a refund for that egg.
The refund only applies to fertility not any egg that stopped developing for other reasons.
DALLAMBAY "RULES OF ENGAGEMENT"
1. We are selective about the birds whose eggs we sell. Our birds don't have show-ring defects (such as straight comb, 4 toes, unfeathered feet, two tone eyes, excessive hard feathering...)
2. We are choosy about the eggshell quality. We candle all eggs to check that they are not overly porous, and we discard those which sound weaker to a fingernail tap.
3. We don't ship dirty eggs and we don't clean them. Instead we do our best to make sure nesting boxes are clean, and if the egg isn't clean we reject it as a matter of course.
