Description
We are posting with heavy hearts to find a new home for our beloved family member, Oreo. We have had Oreo since he was 8 weeks old, this decision comes through no fault of his own, due to family reasons, we will be relocating to Asia this July. Sadly, the living environment there, compact apartments in densely packed high-rises with very limited access to green space, would not be suitable for an energetic, outdoors-loving dog like Oreo.
Oreo is a 4-year-old Shepsky and Bearded Collie mix, full of personality, intelligence, and love. He thrives on long walks, especially in quieter areas and woodlands where he can run freely off-lead and fetch his favourite sticks or balls. He walks beautifully on a harness and is generally calm around other dogs. While he can be a little nervous around new people and unfamiliar experiences, he absolutely loves our weekend adventures to country parks, beaches and lakes (he adores water) and is very well-behaved at dog-friendly restaurants.
Oreo loves his two good daily walks, keeping him happy, calm and content. He’s not a fan of crowded indoor places like shopping malls or supermarkets and may become frightened and reluctant to enter. At home, Oreo is house trained, pad trained and prefers having access to a garden for toilet breaks. He has previously lived in the same home as cats (though in separate areas) and has no experience with young children. Once settled, he’s content to be left alone at home during the day and knows basic commands well. He’s obedient and eager to please, though he can show some resource guarding, particularly with food and toys in his mouth, so this is something to be mindful of, especially early on.
Oreo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and receives regular flea and worming treatment. With patience, love, and understanding, he becomes a loyal, affectionate and playful companion.
This is an incredibly difficult decision for us, and it breaks our hearts to even consider rehoming him. But we love him deeply, and we want what’s best for him, a home where he can continue to live a joyful, active life surrounded by nature. Oreo means the world to us, and we are hoping to find someone who will feel the same.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch and we will happily discuss further.
