🐾 Doris is a small, dinky 3.5 years old French Bulldog girl with a huge personality and an even bigger love for human comfort. Recently surrendered together with Winston, she has spent time in foster for recovery and assessment. What we’ve learned is that Doris and Winston — though living together previously — are not actually bonded and have frequent confrontations, especially around toys. For their wellbeing, they are now being rehomed individually.

💔 Rescue Story
Doris originally came into rescue due to changes in her previous owner’s circumstances which resulted in long hours spent alone. After surrender, she and Winston went into foster, giving us the chance to see their real personalities and needs.
It became clear that the pair not only frequently squabbled but were actually stressed by each other’s presence — especially around toys and resources. For Doris’s wellbeing and emotional comfort, she now requires a home where she can settle without competition or tension.
🐾 More About Doris
Doris is a sweetheart at heart — a little cuddle bug who adores human company. She will happily curl up on your lap, follow you around the home, and snuggle in her blankets like a tiny princess making a cosy nest.
She loves children and often follows them hopeful for fuss, but she can be snatchy with treats due to her excitement around food, so kids must understand how to offer treats safely.
Outdoors, Doris walks nicely on a lead, but she hates the cold and rain, and this affects her toileting. She often refuses to step outside in chilly weather, resulting in accidents indoors — typically by the back door. With routine, time to settle, warmth, and gentle encouragement, this can improve, but adopters must be ready to continue this training patiently.
Her biggest challenge is toy guarding — Doris can become very possessive of toys and can react strongly if other dogs approach them. Because of this, she must be the only dog in the home.
Despite these quirks, she is wonderfully quiet, affectionate, and easy to love. She isn’t destructive, she settles beautifully when left for short periods, and she simply thrives on gentle human attention.
🏡 Ideal Family
Doris needs a calm, loving home where she can be someone’s little shadow without competing with other dogs. A family who understands food manners and toys guarding would suit her best, and dog-savvy children who can safely offer treats would be fine. She’d thrive with someone who isn’t out often and can gently guide her through her toilet-training needs and her confidence around going outdoors in colder weather.
💞 Doris is a tiny girl with a huge heart who just wants to belong. With patience, warmth and understanding, she will blossom into the sweetest, most devoted companion. She isn’t complicated — she just wants to feel safe, warm, and loved.
