Here is Dennis the dachshund. We’ve had Dennis for a couple months and he had been amazing. Just recently he has started growling at my child. I haven’t had any issues until now. I genuinely think my 5 year old has wound him up as he’s brilliant with my 2 year old. He is microchipped and has had his jabs. He isn’t neutered. He is a very loving dog. Always by your side no matter where you go. Likes to sleep in bed with you. He’s currently on royal canine dachshund dry food and boiled chicken as he’s quite fussy with wet food. He is toilet trained just you typical puppy that likes to play and run around with your socks in his mouth. He will come with everything you need from food to blankets and toys

Very intelligent Dachshunds learn quickly and know how to please

Fun-loving and playful by nature

Energetic and feisty Dachshunds like to be kept entertained

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints

They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise

The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
