My son has about 12 adult Indian stick insects, but would gladly either give them away, or sell them for £45 ONO complete with the small Exo-Terra glass case they're in. This option would also include the Habistat heater panel and thermostat that keeps the case at 20°, and a foldable zip-close mesh container that's useful for putting the insects in while cleaning out the case and putting in fresh greenery). The whole thing would make a good kit, and looks pretty cool too, IMO.
The stick insects are still laying eggs, but we've been freezing them to stop the multiplication / overcrowding. They eat a mixture of laurel and ivy, and have been very easy to keep and pretty good fun... but it is now scientifically proven that the attention span of a child is shorter than the lifespan of a stick insect, and they deserve more from life!
