Meet Benji, a small medium truly lovely young dog who was rescued as a puppy from a public shelter. He did not have the easy start every puppy deserves, but what makes Benji so special is this: his heart has always remained gentle.
Now safe in a private shelter, Benji quietly hopes for the one thing he has never known — a calm, loving home where he can finally feel secure and begin his real life.
Benji is not a dog who demands attention. He is the kind who draws you in softly — a shy wag of his tail, a hopeful look, a gentleness that speaks without words.
📏 Size:
Approximately 40 cm at the shoulder (exact measurement available on request).
🐾 Appearance & possible mix:
Benji has the elegant, slender build often seen in Lurcher or Whippet-type mixes, with a soft, thoughtful expression that reflects his sensitive and gentle nature. His glossy black coat, white chest, and fine legs create a graceful, almost poetic silhouette. Simply put, he is a very handsome young dog.
💛 Personality:
Benji is sweet, gentle, and affectionate. When meeting new people, he likes to take a little time to observe first — not because he is difficult, but because he is thoughtful and sensitive. Once he feels safe, his true nature shines through: loyal, loving, and deeply connected to his people.
He gets along very well with other dogs. A calm canine companion could help boost his confidence, though this is absolutely not essential if his adopters offer warmth, time, and reassurance. Benji is the kind of dog who gives back tenfold what he receives.

Friends InDeed is a registered UK charity. A home check (online if needed) is required for every adoption. We place our dogs only with genuine dog lovers who have a private garden and no children under the age of 10. Our dogs are family companions — not working, therapy, or assistance dogs.
We remain available for support after adoption. WhatsApp or phone contact works best, and we can arrange a video call if you would like to meet Benji live.
We are a transparent rescue actively involved in spay/neuter projects and in placing dogs into permanent, loving homes. Adoption fees or donations may vary depending on circumstances. We can provide references from over 500 happy UK families.
