Introducing our little girl Pearl,
Pearl is 45yrs young this doesn't show, she's as lively & playful as ever. She loves to dance & sing, her favourite song is Kylie Minogue - cant get you out of my head. She is able to perfectly sing along " La-la-la, la-la-la-la-la'" also she loves singing her name, quite a big vocabulary nothing naughty. Climbing stairs, hopping around everywhere is her favourite mode to get around as well as semi flying a few meters, she steps up easily as cant wait to get out of her cage, will follow her chosen female human around everywhere, if she could dance, sing, cuddle on a sofa, bed or perch in the shower not getting too wet though, or simply be with you all day on a work top or back of a chair would be heaven for her. She is used to being out of her cage a lot.
She loves to eat bird porridge made with water in the morning, loves vegetables semi warm her favourite being sweetcorn & garden peas along with baked beans, enjoys a good sleep 12hrs normally 7pm to 8am. Her perfect spot for her large cage near a window with a view & to have the radio on to bop along too makes her day if she cant be out with you.
Pearls storey is for the first 20+yrs she had times where she was locked in her cage for long periods of time & no stimulation and ended up plucking her feathers, these feathers will not grow back now, she has no long term issues from this, she just enjoys being semi naked now & winter times wears a hoodie. Her last owner then had her for a further 20+ years she was adored & loved by her primary female carer and young children. Circumstances changed and we then brought Pearl into our lives as company for our male Moluccan cockatoo, unfortunately she just has never settled with him & to put it bluntly hates our male cockatoo and myself being male. She loves my female partner & only wants her, this isn't from over bonding she just has never taken to myself or to our Moluccan. We are quite experienced cared for cockatoos for many many yrs we have tried everything but she is stubborn & wont love us males, she has tried to attack myself a few times and succeeded our Moluccan is quite upset & wont come out of his cage to play anymore & is becoming very sad so we have to do the right thing to fix the situation unfortunately, so for Pearl to have a happy life we want to find her forever female.
NO MALE HUMANS IN HOUSEHOLD, PEARL SUITS A FEMALE IDEALLY A FEMALE ON HER OWN AT HOME ALL DAY.
Ideally the lucky lady would work from home / or retired be able to have Pearl out & play with her which would become an amazing companion, if your out all day & have worries about handling a large parrot it wouldn't be a perfect fit, We have a small dog she isn't worried about her at all. We have a blue & gold macaw who strangely is male and she takes no notice of him. Once a bond is built she will let you put a harness on doesnt really like it but will, jumpers / hoodies no problem, brush tickle her, clip her nails, snuggle in your jumper no problems, she will look for you, get so excited when she sees you, misses you, loves you.
Home is 100% important we are not looking for money for Pearl but most importantly will wait for the right forever home to come along. We will insist on a video call if you are serious about Pearl to show us the potential environment & suitable size cage this is just being sensible & caring for Pearls future no doubt you agree. ( We do have a 3 month old Rainforest Rio Are cage we can discuss if you need a cage it cost £500 3 months ago).
