These are Persian jirds NOT Mongolian gerbil. They are larger :)

They are very friendly animals, they do not like to be held but will come and say hello and take treats. They need an enclosure like a fancy rat. They do not dig but rock hop and jump. We keep ours in the metal style rat enclosures
Fed gerbil food and given extra veggies and live food or cat biscuits for added protein
