Description
AVAILABLE-Baxter boy- 35-38kg of marsh
mellow spooning- 5yrs old, energetic &
extremely deserving & loving Kettering
Northamptonshire area 'Baxter’ as he’s now known (previously
‘Rex’ when he was in Europe) is a beautiful
specimen of a boy- as stately &
aristocratic as Darcy in ‘Pride & Prejudice’
though he’s not an upper class chappie
-he’s the most down to earth and engaging
marsh mellow that you could hope to meet.
What we love about Baxter is that he’s
adaptable & naturally multi faceted.
Whether you want a spirited, strong,
graceful, calm, lively, ambling, serene,
animated, tranquil, gracious, thoughtful,
resolute, courageous, uncomplaining,
loyal, playful, mature, single minded,
communicative, self contained, self
sustaining reliant dog- Baxter is your guy.
He’s all things & that makes him such a
special, unique & rewarding companion to
have.
We will liken him onto memory foam
because if you want a spooning partner this laddo will mold around you as you can
see in the pictures. He’s been through the
mill & it’s not over yet though currently
he’s unaware that things will change again
for him. If only we could talk to them. In
brief Bax’ as a little pup found himself in a
Bulgarian government shelter though
things were looking up when a kind person
took him in. This is not usually the case as
he was born in a country where dogs are
considered worthless & when they go to
shelters like this it doesn’t mean they are
safe -they are at risk & extremely
vulnerable (please ask if you’d like to learn
more). He had a good life we are told until
his owner tragically died & poor Baxter
found himself back in the same
municipality pound. He would have been
desperate, confused & distressed at this
turn of events. I met him afterwards and
was asked to help. We were delighted
when he was chosen by a U.K. adopter of
ours (my rescue dedicates itself to the
safe liberation of many beautiful animals)
& we were happy that he would go back to
what he knew - a home. Of all the dogs to
lose that again, Baxter appears one of the
least deserving. If you include his first
residence this would be his third chance
adoption though obviously a death is as
dire as it gets and beyond any manageable
circumstances.. The owner would do
anything to be alive & continue to cherish
his lovely boy. The problem for this
dashing fella is that he won’t know what
he’s done wrong & rejection in their world
is just that because they don’t understand
reasons. So I bring you Baxter with huge
hopes, as a U.K. second chance adoption
due to his current owners personal
circumstances & through no fault of his
own:-
“He is a lovely dog, he is just not 'our'
lovely dog”. Below is Baxter’s statistics/information &
his family profile in the words of his
adopter. We find ‘a day in the life of’
written by the existing owners to be
informative & insightful. Baxter in the
words of his owners daughter when they
chose him is ‘adorable’ so what is there
folks not to want? Form an orderly line.

Must haves:
Baxter is used to a garden and will
therefore need one
Exercise & stimuli
Patience, compassion &
understanding as he will miss his
home & people- Baxter’s next home
must be his FOREVER place as so
far Baxter is loosing people not
gaining & as with children this is
impacting. They don’t process what
might be better for them as we can’t
tell them - all they know is they are
happy or happier in their situation
and the loss of it for them is not
buffered by what we believe as
humans. We ask therefore for
serious & genuine enquiries only.
Baxter will already be attached as
this is quite instant for animals
though they are able to bounce back
and the move will not in time define
him. Baxter survived the loss of his
person & he now needs the love of
his life- is that you?
Baxter in Europe as you can see in
his video benefited as all dogs do
from being a loyal follower to a kind
leader - the shelter workers set
boundaries & ‘own’ the dogs not the
other way round. Additionally after
only moments of my entering the
enclosure he sits & is calm despite
that being his only contact that day.
This is Baxter’s nature in the right
home & it surpasses many pedigree
dogs. He did that without training &
a lot may be due to his first home in
Europe.
His owners words:-
“I contacted Leesa on 15th May to say that
unfortunately we would not be able to keep
Baxter.
This is through no fault of his own, he is a
lovely dog,
Have attached a few videos showing
Baxter: Happily amusing himself - Following a
trail - Hunting for bees and hot and
bothered after sun bathing in the garden
but also - very shiny!
I don't want to make him sound like a
problem dog, because he really isn't, he is
just in the wrong place.
In the right home he would be able to burn
off a lot of his energy and be infinitely
more trainable. He is fun and sweet.
