Florence is around 18 months old and medium in size. She would prefer to live with another confident dog. She could live in a female only home or one with a female and patient male.
This beautiful girl is currently living in a foster home in Birmingham, and is doing so very well. She loves her walks and will happily trot along by your side. Her foster carer asks her to wait at the kerb before crossing the road, and she will happily stop and wait. If a bicycle or person comes near, she does worry, but stands still and looks to her canine friends for reassurance that it’s OK.
This lady really is a sweety. During her stay in foster care, Flo has been going to training classes twice a week. This has just been to encourage and develop her social skills further. She now gets very excited and giddy at seeing her doggy friends and some owners!
Flo is worried about meeting men, possibly due to some unpleasant early experiences in her life. She will need a female guardian in her new home, but if there is also a male guardian they will need to show patience and understanding towards her. A friendship will happen, but it might just take some time. - It is worth noting that Flo has zero aggression, even when she is anxious. If a dog barks at her she offers no reaction to them.
Flo has also been lucky to experience her first holiday with her foster family, and she loved it! The journey included 3 hours in the car, where she just slept or looked out of the window. Then when they got to their holiday location, Flo loved her time on the beach digging and doing zoomies on the sand. She also went into the sea. They took Flo out everywhere with them and said that “she was a dream.”
Flo is quite simply a lovely girl. She does lack some confidence, but a fellow dog-sister or dog-brother will really help her confidence grow. Flo will make a wonderful companion.
