Description
I’m absolutely brokenhearted to seek a new home for Rafa. He’s a large Ruby cavalier, c13-14kg, only one year old and with a glorious zest for life. However, he needs to be the only pet in the home.
I re-homed Rafa almost two months ago, so he’s already been moved on once. When he came to me, I was told that his previous owner had three cats. However, he’s been bullying mine and also my resident dog.
Rafa had not been neutered or been off lead when I got him, so I put his exuberance down to that. He’s had the surgery and recovered fully. He’s also been off lead in the park and his recall is excellent too. However, he’s terrorising my cat as much as he did on day one, and I think he just can’t help his prey drive.
I want Rafa to go to a loving home where the owners will only use positive reinforcement training. Where they will let him off lead in the park and hopefully help him make other doggy friends. He says hello to everyone, and there is nothing so joyful as seeing him run free. I want the owners to understand that Rafa has been lost owners through no fault of his own, and when he jumps up it’s usually for a cuddle. He gives the best cuddles!
I’m devastated but Rafa is stressed himself by the cat. He needs to be the only pet and kept as the King he is. I can’t give him that and can’t let the situation carry on.
He comes with pedigree and microchip papers and will have his booster this week. He has a slight overbite, which apparently meant his baby teeth had to be removed. But his adult teeth have grown fine and he’s strong playing with his tug toys!
I don’t drive unfortunately.
