Description

Meet Blackie – A Gentle Soul with a Mysterious Past 🖤 10 years old | Indoor-Outdoor | Neutered Male 🖤 There’s a touch of lore behind Blackie’s striking key lime green eyes. Found around the age of five, thin and with a little fight wound, Blackie quietly appeared in a back garden, having clearly endured a hard stretch of life on the streets. Some say he fought off foxes (and he still does to this day), but the truth of his early adventures is known only to him. Whatever the story, it led him to a warm home and five peaceful years with a loving guardian who, with a heavy heart, is now searching for a new family to continue giving him the comfort and care he deserves. Blackie’s coat is a stunning midnight black, sleek and soft, but catch him in the sunlight and you’ll notice a warm brown undertone that runs through the middle of his body—like a secret he only shares with the sun. Blackie is an outdoorsman. He loves spending his time patrolling the rear garden and fighting off any cats or foxes who dare come near. Whilst not in the garden, his is found sleeping besides his owner, following her around like a wee shadow (even sleeping on the bath mat whilst she showers) or basking in the sun on his favourite windowsill. About Blackie: Enjoys a balance of indoor coziness and outdoor exploration, and would thrive in a home with a garden on a quiet street. Territorial in the garden—he’ll chase off visiting cats and even foxes to keep “his” space peaceful. Prefers calm companionship—ideal for singles, couples, or families with older children. A true creature of comfort: naps on windowsills, shares your bed (he has his side), and follows you from room to room. Shy at first with new people, often weaving between ankles, but warms up gently and allows pets once he feels safe. Note: our adoption fee is sliding scale and ranges from £50 to £200 depending on post code.
