Ginger is a beautiful, petite silver Sphynx girl looking for a loving new home due to an unexpected house move. This is a heartbreaking decision for our family, and we want to find a home that understands and appreciates her individual personality.
Ginger is calm, affectionate and wonderfully vocal. She enjoys attention and cuddles but also values having a quiet, undisturbed place when she has had enough activity. She likes to check that everyone is safely home before settling into a peaceful place to relax.
Unlike her sister Crystal, Ginger prefers sleeping on top of a blanket rather than being tucked underneath it. She will clearly tell you when she does not like something—nail trimming, for example! Her expressive personality is a large part of her charm.
Ginger has grown up with our children, aged six and eight. She enjoys their company but can become overwhelmed more quickly than Crystal when the attention gets too enthusiastic, so she needs a family who will respect her signals and allow her space when requested.
She is accustomed to dogs and is comfortable living around them, although she does not generally play with them. She enjoys toys, treats, cooked meat at lunchtime and relaxing in front of the fireplace. Purina Pro Plan dry food is always available to her.
Ginger uses a large, shallow litter tray for bowel movements. She sometimes urinates in a human toilet or on a puppy pad positioned in front of the litter tray. Her new family should be willing to continue providing these familiar options while helping her maintain a consistent toileting routine.
Ginger is an indoor cat. She has experienced supervised outdoor time with a harness and lead, but we recommend outdoor access only under constant supervision or once she is fully trained to walk safely on a lead.
She enjoys chasing insects and other moving objects, so we cannot guarantee she would be suitable around hamsters, rodents, or other small animals.
