Description
These miniature dachshund puppies are being raised in a very different way to the typical 8-week rehoming model.
I am a professional dog trainer with over 13 years’ experience, specialising in dachshunds and small breed behaviour. This litter has been bred primarily for my own personal project and education, with the intention of raising puppies with strong foundations before they ever leave for their new homes.
For that reason, these puppies will not be leaving at 8 weeks.
The earliest puppies will be considered for new homes is 12 weeks, and some may be kept until 16 weeks to allow additional training and development. I may also be keeping one or more puppies myself.
By the time puppies leave, they will be introduced to:
• Crate training
• Structured toilet training
• Working for food
• Calm handling and daily routines
• Household noises and real-life environments
• Age-appropriate social exposure
• Basic marker words and engagement
The aim is to give each puppy a head start in life and reduce many of the common struggles new dachshund owners experience (toilet training issues, poor sleep, separation distress, over-attachment, etc).
Both parents are healthy, excellent examples of the breed with lovely temperaments. Health testing has been carried out, including genetic screening, and details can be discussed.
These puppies are being raised in my home as part of daily life, not in kennels or outdoor buildings.
I am not a commercial breeder and will not be breeding further litters. Homes will be chosen carefully based on suitability, lifestyle, and understanding of the breed.
