Description
I’m looking to rehome my 2-year-old Green Cheek Conure. I don’t know the bird’s sex, but he is a calm, sweet parrot who has been free in the house in the last year. He has his own room with a cage, toys, food, and water, but prefers to stay around the house and only goes to his room when he wants to and at night to sleep. He loves flying freely, and exploring.
He enjoys music, especially relaxing piano music and Christmas songs. He does not speak words. His favorite foods include strawberries, daily carrot rounds, broccoli, a little lettuce, apple, green grapes, blueberries, and sweet potato.
Sadly, he lost his partner two and a half months ago ( he escaped outside) and it has been a difficult time for him. He picked at his feathers and spent a lot of time alone. Over the past month, however, he has started to recover — he has new fluffy feathers on his belly, bathes more often, and chirps when he wants food, music, or come to speak with him. When you’re in the room, he likes to come and to speak with him.
During his progress toward being hand-tamed, he used to come take seeds from the hand, picked up the toys from a basket, and he loved playing with seashell, and he handles fruits very well with his little feet.
He needs another parrot companion. He is not tame. He has been free-flight inside the home for the past year. I would like him to go to someone who already has a parrot or someone whose bird recently lost its partner, and who can give him the same freedom and attention he is used to. It’s clear that he is not doing well living alone. He never been ill, but please read on the internet how to keep the new parrot and your own safe and introduce them gradually. He is coming with his own toys to confort him, and with a small playground if you want it.
If you can offer him a loving home with another bird and the right environment, please contact me. The price is £160 for the bird and all the toys that he has, including a playground made of wood if you like it. Also I have his cage and I want to sell it for £400, easy negotiable, is like new, very quality cage, I used to have newspaper on it, so I can clean daily the cage. You can clean that cage with a wet cloth and then rub with a dry cloth and everything is like new. I had 3 cages for my parrots and that one is the best. The cage I brought from rainforest cage for £470. Thank you.
