Description
Rescued from a public shelter/killing station
Poppy’s life began in fear and loneliness. Found entirely on her own — no mother, no siblings, no familiar scent of safety — she was picked up by dog catchers and brought into the public shelter/killing station.
A tiny pup in a world far too loud and frightening.
To give her some comfort, the shelter placed her with other orphaned pups, so they could at least share warmth and not feel so utterly alone. But even with them beside her, Poppy remains deeply affected by the shelter environment.
She is a sensitive, gentle girl, and every day there weighs heavily on her.
This sweet young dog urgently needs a home where she can finally rest…
A quiet, patient place where she can feel safe, breathe, and discover that the world can be kind. She is ready — she just needs someone who will let her move at her own pace.
🔍 Appearance & possible mix
Based on appearance alone, Poppy may have some rough-coated Griffon or Terrier-type mix, possibly combined with local shepherd genetics.
Her exact mix is unknown — like many rescued pups — but her scruffy coat, soft expression and half-upright ears give her an unmistakably charming look.
She is a small–medium girl, around 40 cm at the shoulder (exact height can be measured on request).
💛 Her personality
Poppy is delicate, soft-hearted and easily overwhelmed. She doesn’t need people with expectations — she needs people with kindness, patience, and a warm place to simply exist.
She will blossom slowly, like a flower opening when it finally feels the warmth of the sun.
With time, safety and gentle care, she will show her trust, her sweetness, and her quiet beauty — always at her own pace.
🏡 Her needs
A calm home and peaceful environment.
People who understand sensitive dogs and respect slow progress.
A securely fenced garden, so she can safely toilet and explore in the beginning.
Step-by-step guidance to learn:
• wearing a harness
• following a lead
• discovering the world gently
Humans who simply want to give her a safe, loving place to heal.
She is still young — and in the right hands, she has a whole life to bloom.
📸 About her photos
Poppy is still too overwhelmed in the shelter to take a full set of “pretty pictures.”
Her comfort comes first.
Anyone who sees her true worth will understand this.
If someone has genuine interest, we can kindly ask the shelter to take a few additional photos — but only if it does not cause extra stress.
The beautiful photos can always come later, once she feels safe.
