Description
We are sadly looking to rehome our 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel (show),Elvis.
Elvis can be a very loving and affectionate dog with people he knows well and has lots of personality. He loves playing with rope toys and enjoys chasing balls, so he would suit someone who can give him plenty of playtime and engagement.
He has always been great with other dogs and mixes well with them. He doesn’t show any dominant behaviours and is generally quite easy-going around other dogs.
However, he has developed some behavioural issues and will need an experienced, confident dog owner who understands reactive dogs and is willing to continue working with him.
He can be reactive and has shown snapping behaviour in certain situations, particularly when being stopped from doing something he wants to do, when putting his harness on, or if physically moved. That said, once you know him and understand his triggers, these flare-ups can generally be avoided by managing situations appropriately.
Because of this, he would need a home without young children and with someone who has experience managing and training dogs with behavioural challenges.
This is an extremely difficult decision for us, but with a baby in the home it is no longer a safe situation.
We want to find Elvis the right home with someone who understands his needs and can give him the structure and training he requires.
