Description
SHE IS NOT 50 POUND. SHE IS FREE TO AN EXPERIENCED, PATIENT OWNER.
.
Malibu is a female, two year old, semi-longhair, black smoke tortie.
.
I'm heartbroken to have to rehome Malibu, but we simply can’t afford the care she needs anymore. She is a soft, gentle and sweet girl who has never bitten or scratched anyone. She is extremely tolerant, but it makes her very very anxious to be held, or pet on her head, or chased for cuddles. She still wont hurt you, but please respect her boundaries.
.
She was recently diagnosed with FIC (Feline Idiopathic Cystitis), a lifelong condition that requires her to have daily anxiety medication to help manage her symptoms. During flare-ups, she sometimes also needs urinary tract supplements or pain medication to stay comfortable. Her flare ups cause her to pee blood and pee in unusual places around the house. When not in a flare up, she will use her litterbox perfectly. Please do not discipline her for peeing outside the litter during her flare ups, she cannot help it as she cannot hold it, and she is in pain. She needs someone who is very understanding and patient. The flare ups usually only last a day to a couple days at a time.
.
Due to her bad anxiety, she would be best suited in a home with no children or other animals. However, she has bonded fine with our male cat, but I'm not sure if she would be able to bond to another cat the same. It may be too stressful.
.
She is microchipped, flead, wormed and spayed. Her microchipping details will have to be changed once adopted, and I am available to assist with that.
.
This decision hasn’t come easy. Malibu is a sweet, loving cat, and we just want her to have the best chance at a healthy, happy life with someone who can meet her needs.
