Lovely Lily is looking for her own home. She is a medium sized dog at 18kg and estimated to be 5 years old. She is with me in foster in South Bristol. I’m looking for her forever home, a family who want to help a dog more than they want a dog to fit into their requirements. She needs someone kind and patient. Lily clearly has a background of being abused which is why she needs a patient home. She is still scared of men but has come on a long way already, so this will need to continue to be worked on, but I’m sure will improve further with time and patience. Lily is a wonderful dog. She sleeps well at night. She has no separation anxiety so can be left for short periods of time. Lily is good with other dogs, but as with all dogs, needs careful first introductions. Lily is used to wearing a harness and lead and her absolute favourite thing is to go out for walks/runs with me and the other 2 dogs. She is a hound so does have a scent drive. I do let her off lead in more secure areas and she loves to run. She recalls but if there’s a scent then her natural tendencies take over. But with consistent recall training that could improve as she loves to please and I’ve not worked much on recall training yet. She is clean in the house, apart from accidents if she is scared. I never see any aggression from Lily, even when she’s very scared. She’s great with my loud 7 year old child, lets him pet her and sit with her. But she would benefit from a quiet home so a home preferably without young children purely on that basis. She currently lives with a cat in the house and lots of cats around outside on walks and is not bothered by them. She really is a lovely dog and with the right home who have time to help her she will flourish. Meet and greets are absolutely essential. Home check applies.
