Description
Shadow is a 7-month-old Belgian Malinois looking for the right home. He’s a very driven and intelligent dog and would suit someone experienced with working breeds or someone looking for a security/guard prospect. Because of his temperament he needs to be the only pet in the household, so no other dogs or animals.
I’ve put a lot of time into training him and building a solid foundation. He knows sit, down, place, wait, spin, close (heel), and walks nicely on a loose leash. His recall is excellent and he responds very well when called. A big focus of his training has been impulse control and engagement, and he’s learned to stay calm and focused even when he’s excited.
Shadow has good structure in his daily routine. He waits at doors, waits before crossing roads, and waits for permission before eating his food. He understands boundaries and is used to being handled and worked with consistently.
He is kennel trained, and the kennel is his off-switch. When he’s in there he settles down well and relaxes, so if someone plans on kennel keeping him he’s already comfortable with that setup.
This is not a low-maintenance dog. He needs someone who can give him time, structure, and continued training. Malinois are very intelligent and high-energy dogs, so he will do best with someone who understands the breed and is willing to keep working him mentally and physically.
In the right hands he has the potential to be a very solid working/security dog or a serious companion for someone experienced with the breed.
