Description
This is Norm, he's approx 14" x 20" (35cm x 50cm). He's 7 years old. My daughter rescued him from a pet shop that she worked part time at, when he was only a few months old, they didn't seem to understand what they had so he wasn't getting the care he needed. If she hadn't brought him home, we don't think he would have survived. She's since left home and left him with us. She lives in a city so doesn't think she'll ever have the space he needs. We have cared for him for the last few years but feel he needs more than we are able to give. He loves company, he has his own personality but he's quite stubborn. If left out of his enclosure, on his own in the garden, he always finds his way into the house. He loves his food (hay, grass, greens etc, his favourite are apples but they can only be given as a treat).
We would love him to go to someone that has more time to spend with him and a big garden for him to roam.
These are the 3rd largest tortoise in the world and can grow very big and weigh a lot.
A secure outdoor enclosure is needed, with a heated kennel or shed.
A good knowledge of keeping them is needed.
