We are fostering a dog named Domino and we want to find someone who can give her the care she needs.
Her previous owner could not keep her and the shelter had no space, so we took her in until a suitable home could be found. Domino has a very gentle and sweet nature and she has been calm and loving with us from the moment she arrived.
After a few days we noticed she was struggling with her back legs. She was limping, her feet were giving way and she had to sit down often because she could not walk properly. The vet examined her and told us she has stage three patellar luxation in both of her back legs. This means her kneecaps are dislocated and only surgery will help her. The treatment and recovery would include operations, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy.
Our difficulty is that we do not have the time or experience to care for a dog with such serious needs. We also live in London and this is not the best environment for her because she needs a home with more space and no stairs, ideally in a quiet countryside area.
Because of her medical condition many shelters are unable to take her. We are looking for someone who has the experience, time and environment to give her the care she deserves. If you live in the countryside or close to a shelter that can support her, we would be grateful to hear from you. We are not asking for any money. If needed, we are willing to cover any costs involved in helping her to be put to sleep peacefully if a vet decides that this is the kindest option for her. Our priority is that she receives the care that is best for her and that she is not left to struggle.
