Description
Mr Boo (Ernie)
Ernie is a 12hh, 10yo pony and would make a great friend for a capable child. He's willing to ride and soft in the mouth (currently in a full cheek lozenge with no problems) and will hack for hours with company. Can be a little nappy by himself but will only plant, nothing dangerous, and if holding a whip is fine. He will school in walk, trot and canter- although still green is polite and responsive. His canter transitions in particular do need a little work, mostly due to a lack of experience and balance. Responds mainly to vocal cues. On the ground Ernie is incredibly sociable, he runs over to the gate to see you and thrives off company. He lives with a herd of 5 geldings, a mix of ages and sizes; and has lived around donkeys, sheep, dogs, chickens, turkeys, etc with no issues. He has also previously been out with mare fine. Lives out 24/7 in all conditions and not phased by any weather. Would like him to stay living out as much as possible but has been stabled previously. Does have some separation anxiety if left alone, happy to discuss.
Ernie practically loads himself and travels well. Likes a pamper and a bath. Has been clipped before and although a bit nervous didn't move a muscle or pull any faces. Hes not keen on the dentist but with a small amount of sedation is no fuss. Behaves for farrier, is currently barefoot and in hoof boots to hack (Scoot enduros, can be sold for an additional price, have been fitted to him and still in nearly new condition, he just wears his hoof down too quickly without with our rough ground) Has hacked through woods, moorland, over bridges and rivers and on the road- not phased by any traffic no matter how loud or scary. Isn't super keen on water but isn't hard to convince with a little patience.
Only selling as he was a project I'm clearly too big for. Would suit a mainly hacking, fun sort of home. Will school and I have popped him over a small cross pole which he was fine with, but would need some work on the flat and jumping if you wanted to progress with this. He is green, and whilst he has been ridden by nervous, unbalanced riders and not put a foot wrong, he could do with someone who knows what they're doing to get the best out of him. Such a friendly pony, he will make someone happy, any questions please ask- but serious enquires only
