Description
Giant prickly sticky insect (aka Macleay's spectre, Extatosoma tiaratum) large nymphs and young adults available, approx 4-5 months old. Available in a variety of colours (beige, reddish brown, dark brown, green). Smaller nymphs occasionally available including rare Ghost morphs (very pale bluish green) and Lichen morphs (lichen mimics = green with black speckles).
Feeding well on bramble leaves. Also available are batches of fertilised eggs from mated pairs (likely to hatch in the next 1-3 months), and larger adult females (laying eggs).
Easy to care for, beautiful, docile and interesting species - large sexually dimorphic adults. Freshly-hatched nymphs are Australian red-headed black ant mimics. See care guides online e.g. phasmid study group PSG 9), lifespan average 18 months for females after reaching adulthood, 12 months for males.
