Small, gentle, and trusting, Rosie was left behind when she was still far too young to understand why. One moment there was familiarity, voices she knew, a sense of belongingāand the next, she was alone. No explanation. No goodbye.
Rosie stayed close to where she had been abandoned. She didnāt run far. She didnāt cry out. She simply waited, watching every passing face, hoping one of them would come back for her.
