Genuine honest and open advert
After little girl outgrew Wendy we naively thought this little Section A mare (rising 17yrs and 11’2hh) could become a field ornament BUT that’s not what she wants! Wendy loves and I really do mean loves to work! On the ground she is brilliant and will happily let you stretch her legs, pick her feet and plait her mane etc. My little girl has done this since age 6
Brilliant for the dentist, farrier (unshod) and loading- trailer or box.
Teeth and vaccinations up to date. Green passport.
Never sick or sorry happy living in or out with mares or geldings.
We have done some dressage where we had many compliments on her paces but this isn’t something we have done much of in the last 18months as hacking and jumping is what we do most of!
If you want a cuddly pony who wants to be snuggled and fussed it’s not her!
We tried to calm her hormones with Improvac from the vet but it had no effect and despite lots of tears from little girl we have finally decided that selling her is what’s best for her….. she has no desire to retire!
Wendy thrives on regular work and we have now upped her exercise again, working most days which demonstrates further still that she is what she wants to do.
Riding once a week isn’t enough for her and believe me when I say she is bright!…. Literally this pony would pass her 11+, If the rider is nervous she will take the mickey….. this is usually seen in the form of a bunny hop or a buck, if you do fall she won’t run off she will just drop her neck as if to say…. Hey you ok down there!? Wendy is extremely responsive to your voice but can be very strong especially when excited by seeing jumps! This should tell you that this little lady is not for a nervous rider!
Cross country, jumping, and pony games I think is where she excels. Jumping 1m isn’t a problem for her and I’m sure she could do more, she will literally give you her everything. We have won many a rosette and trophy and attended PC rallies and games. Wendy is great to hack and is used to heavy traffic (proper farm country round here!) mostly we take her hacking on her own and I walk at the side of her with my daughter on board.
Ppl think she is sweet and will make a great lead rein or first ridden- that she just is not!
