Description
Gixer has been our family pet since he was a little pup. Unfortunately due to redundancy last year and despite trying my best to make it work, I now work hours that don’t give our handsome boy enough time.
Gix needs to restart his vaccinations due to being a few months over his annual booster. He has a good temperament and all the typical Dax traits. No health problems and thankfully none of the Dax related back issues. He has not been neutered.
Gixer has grown up around children and has lived his life with a dog companion who we also have for adoption but due to difficulty finding a home for them together we are now having to consider homing separately.
Gixer will need patience to begin with, as experienced Dax owners will know, they are clingy to their owner and so he will need consideration for the early separation anxiety.
This decision has not been made lightly and I am heartbroken for me and my children to have to make this decision but our boy deserves a home where he can be given attention endlessly.

Extremely affectionate and loyal little dogs

Cons
Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
