Poppy is one of those cats that is incredibly difficult to let go of.
She was imported for my breeding programme and has been an important part of developing my golden lines. She is a beautiful golden tipped British Shorthair girl with stunning green eyes, excellent type, and bloodlines that are not commonly found within the UK.
The only reason I am even considering letting her leave on active is because I am moving so having to downsize and I believe she would be happiest in a quieter environment with less cats and where she can have more individual human attention than I am able to give with a bigger cattery and veterinary career.
Unlike many breeding cats, Poppy absolutely thrives on human companionship and would ideally like to be somebody’s special girl.
She loves human attention, is very affectionate, and enjoys being involved in whatever her people are doing. She is confident, intelligent, and has a lovely nature.
As both a breeder and a vet, health has always been my highest priority. Poppy has been part of a carefully managed, closed, health-tested cattery and has been exceptionally well cared for throughout her life.
The Home I Am Looking For
This is where I will be extremely selective.
Poppy will only be considered for an exceptional active home where:
* She will be the only cat ideally (I am expecting this to be hard or impossible to find someone wanting one single active cat but incase they do exist, I know poppy would love to go on to have more litters as she is a fantastic mum and has so much to offer the breed)
* Indoor-only home
* No young children (she is not lived with kids)
* She will be treated as a much-loved family member first and breeding cat second
* Ongoing contact is welcomed
I am not looking for someone simply wanting an extra queen.
I am looking for a home where she can be the centre of attention and where her quality, health and temperament will be genuinely appreciated.
If I do not find that home, she will remain with me until she is spayed and will then be available only as a pet.
Health
Poppy is fully health-tested genetic and diagnostic testing including:
* HCM heart scan
* PKD
* PK Def
* PRA
* SMA
* FeLV/FIV testing
* Extensive infectious disease screening within a closed cattery
She is:
* Fully vaccinated
* Up to date with flea and worming treatments
* GCCF registered
* In excellent condition
Price
Active (exceptional breeding home only): £3000.
If no suitable active home is found, Poppy will be spayed and offered as a pet-only retirement home for £750
I am under absolutely no pressure to place her unless it is best for her and will only consider homes that I genuinely believe will improve her quality of life.
