Description
Isabella Bramha and gold & blue partridge Bramha cockerels available. Hand reared in family home from incubator. Absolutely stunning gentle giants. Also don’t crow much at all compared to other breeds I’ve got / experienced. They potter around my garden with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, ducks, geese and children and are tame and nicely curious. They love to sit at my back door and come in the kitchen given half a chance! Wonderful pets. I just have hatched too many.
About brahmas:
“ Known as one of the largest chicken breeds, the Brahma combines sheer size with a distinct appearance thanks to its large body, feathered legs, and dense feathering.
Its calm temperament, resilience in cold climates, and reputation as the “King of All Poultry” also contribute to its status among backyard chickens.
Temperament: Known for their docile, friendly nature, they are great for families and tend to get along well with other flock members.
Low Noise: Brahmas are typically quieter birds, which can benefit backyard settings.
Less Prone to flying: Due to their large size, flying is not easy, so they cannot fly onto neighboring fences and escape.
Less Space: Brahmas are less active than some breeds, so they do not require as much space for free-ranging as some breeds.
Free-Ranging: Brahmas are generally slow and less active than lighter breeds, making them more manageable in backyard settings. However, they are hardy and resilient, making them suitable for free-ranging in larger settings.
Cold Hardiness: They are excellent in colder climates due to their feathered legs and dense body mass.“
