My dad passed away on 2 weeks ago Monday, and I have come in to care of his young lurcher Casper. Casper is being neutered on the 27th of May & will need 2 weeks recovery so won’t be ready to go to his new home until the 7th of June but can obviously be met beforehand. Casper is an affectionate, bouncy boy but does come with some behavioural issues. He has very bad separation anxiety and food aggression but only towards other dogs - he is 100% human friendly and can be off lead and around other dogs on walks but cannot be fed around other dogs. I am working on training these behaviours out but I live in a small flat with my 2 dogs and I just don’t know if I could take Casper on as I think he needs to be with a couple / or single person that’s willing to put some time into training him. He is very clever and knows quite a few obedience commands and tricks, he walks to heel on the lead and has great recall. He doesn’t travel well in car, he cries but again, I am working on that. I wouldn’t ask for any money for Casper and would send lots of food to begin with and a starter pack for him. I just wan’t him to have a happy, fulfilled life with someone who loves him as he has a lot of love to give. I would recommend he be either the only dog in the home, or with a more placid, non - dominant dog just because of his food issues and I wouldn’t recommended that he lives with young children just because he is quite bouncy and hyperactive.
