Description
Healthy, active Hermann’s tortoise, 20 months old. I’ve had him since he was 6 months old, originally from a local pet shop (bred in Serbia). He is microchipped and comes with his certificate.
Named Frank, although the older he gets, the more I suspect that Frank is actually female. They cannot be accurately sexed until 4/5 years old.
Frank is a lively little character who spends his days basking, exploring, eating, and napping. He enjoys supervised time out of his enclosure (max 1 hour per day, split into shorter sessions) and is used to being around people.
An outdoor enclosure is essential – this species needs regular access to safe outdoor space as well as an indoor setup.
He eats a variety of leafy greens, both shop-bought and foraged weeds. Romaine lettuce and cucumber are his favourites but these are treats, they don't offer much nutrition. He thrives on darker greens and a foraged diet.
Included in sale:
Indoor enclosure - 5ft x 2ft
All lighting and heating equipment
Hides and feeding slate
Temperature gauges
Calcium supplements
Everything you need to care for him is included. Looking for a committed, knowledgeable home.
The outdoor space is key here, only those that have an outside space available will be considered.
