Description
Remi is about 6/7 years old and medium in size. He can live as an only dog, and could possibly live with another dog pending successful meet and greets (he loves playing with other dogs). He cannot live with cats, though.
Sadly, Remi is looking for a new home due to a change of circumstances for his adoptive family. He has lived in this home for 4 years and they wanted to continue caring for him until a home was found. Sadly, they were unable to do this and Remi is now in kennels. We're desperate to get him into a home.
The kennels where he usually boards sent us this feedback, "Remi has boarded at our kennels many times. He's a super lovely boy. Really easy going, gets on with most everyone." Another of his carers says, "He really needs to be in a home, he loves playing with other dogs."
Remi is a house trained, obedient and clever boy. His trick repertoire includes 'sit', 'wait', and 'turn', amongst others!
This fun loving fella enjoys playing with toys and having a good 'zoomies' session around tea time every day. In the summer time, Remi loves chasing flies, but is spectacularly rubbish at catching them! On the rare occasion he does, he has no idea what to do with them. This boy is pure joy!
When someone knocks on your door, Remi will let you know with excited barking! If the person at the door is a new visitor (or someone who hasn't visited for a while), then they can expect a very warm welcome from Remi. He will bounce around to say hello to them, but will calm down after about 5 minutes.
Remi enjoys curling up like a cat on his favourite footstool in front of a radiator. Unfortunately, Remi cannot have soft bedding of any sort as he will destroy it by eating it.
In fact, Remi really enjoys eating and will hoover up any food dropped on the floor. However, he will back off if commanded to do so. Overall, Remi is an absolute delight in the home.
On walks, Remi stays on a lead as he can sometimes take a dislike to other dogs. He does have some recall, but is not 100% reliable. Remi is more of a stroller; he loves catching all the smells he can on his sniffari, so you won't be going anywhere very fast. He is happier on walks away from roads, as he is a bit upset by motorbikes and the occasional lorry, and will lunge at them as they pass.
Although there are some dogs that Remi takes a dislike to, he is mostly fine with other dogs. When at home or in the kennels, if he has been properly introduced to another dog, he will happily play with them... unless he's too busy enjoying sniffing around.
Remi is a really lovely boy, and he desperately needs and deserves to to find a new adoptive home where he will be loved forever.
