About Simi
Meet Simi, a gorgeous and lively young pup with a personality just as beautiful as her appearance. Found as a stray without her mother or siblings, Simi arrived at the shelter all by herself and settled in without any qualms. She travelled to the UK in April to her new home, but unfortunately she and the resident dog are not getting along which has lead her new family to ask us to find her a new home.
Simi is incredibly people oriented. She thrives on human interaction and is always seeking out affection. She's confident, curious, and fearless in new situations, boldly exploring her surroundings and always up for investigating new things. Nothing seems to phase her, and her independent nature makes her a natural explorer.
Simi is great with other dogs and has made friends with every dog she’s met during her walks. She’s also good with the resident dog when they’re out of the house, but unfortunately indoors, where they need to share space, it’s just not working out. Simi could live with another resident dog but it’s important that they’re well matched. Otherwise, she would be absolutely fine on her own.
Simi has great recall and generally prefers to be off the lead. She is improving on the lead, but because she is always desperate to make friends with any dog she sees, she can get frustrated if she can’t, so this is an area that needs some continued work and focus.
Simi has been getting along really well with the children in the family and loves all the fuss. She could be a bit boisterous for smaller children and does try to curb her enthusiasm, but she is a puppy after all. She never means any harm and just wants to be a part of whatever is going on. She is a very, very sociable dog!
Simi is an avid learner of new things and picks up commands and direction very quickly. She absolutely loves food and treats, so this works as the perfect reward to positively reinforce desirable behaviours. She’s clearly very clever and her family believe that she could learn a lot more in time given the focus and attention. She is also crate trained and happily sleeps in there with little encouragement, and housetrained! She’s learned a lot in the few weeks she’s been in a home so we’re confident she has great potential!
Simi is looking for a fairly active lifestyle and a semi-rural home setting where she can get to know the local dogs and enjoy calm walks in the nearby natural beauty spots. She’s very inquisitive and loves to explore, so the city wouldn’t be quite the right match. She also needs a home with a garden - she loves spending time lying outside on the grass and pottering around.
We’re really sad that things haven’t worked out in Simi’s new home, but we know that she is going to flourish in the right environment and now we just want to find her true forever home. She is currently based in Hertfordshire and is ready to meet her new family as soon as possible.
