🐾 Stella – Much-Loved Labrador Looking for Her Forever Home 🐾
This is one of the hardest adverts we have ever had to write. 💔
Stella is our much-loved approximately 18-month-old female Labrador, and due to the owner’s deteriorating health and other family commitments, we have made the heartbreaking decision that we can no longer give her the time, exercise and one-to-one attention that she deserves.
Stella is not spayed and had all of her vaccinations as a puppy. She has always been crate trained and is fully house toilet trained, comfortably managing around 6–8 hours between toilet breaks.
At only 18 months old, Stella may look like an adult, but she is very much still a puppy. She is extremely energetic, playful and thrives on routine, consistency and having someone who can dedicate time to her. She would really benefit from a one-to-one home with someone who understands young Labradors and is prepared to put the time and patience into her. In return, she has the potential to become an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
Stella has been around horses and absolutely loves being outdoors. She currently lives with other dogs and simply wants to play with everyone! She also lives with cats. She is not aggressive towards cats, but unfortunately thinks they are there to play with and will chase them, so a cat-free home would likely be preferable.
She is excellent with children and currently lives with our two autistic children, aged 8 and 11.
One area that needs work is her recall. She previously had a very good recall and was happily walked off lead, but seemingly out of nowhere this deteriorated. Her recall will therefore need rebuilding carefully and consistently.
She is also very strong on the lead. She is currently walked using both a harness and Halti, as she has managed to escape from every harness we have previously tried. This is something that her new owner will need to be prepared to continue working on.
Stella really is a typical young Labrador — full of energy, mischief, love and personality. She needs someone who can provide structure, routine, exercise, training and, most importantly, plenty of time.
This is absolutely not a decision we have taken lightly. We are completely heartbroken to be considering rehoming her, but we have to put Stella’s needs first. She deserves a home where she can have the time and attention she craves rather than us continuing to struggle to give her everything she needs.
We want to find her the right home, not simply any home.
❤️ Serious enquiries only, please.
A genuine forever home is an absolute priority for us, and we will want to speak properly with anyone interested to make sure Stella is the right fit for them and their lifestyle.
Please only enquire if you genuinely have the time, patience, experience and commitment that a young, high-energy Labrador requires.
