I am looking to rehome Mali (pronounced Mal-ee) who is a 5 year old Border Collie due to a change in personal circumstance. Mali has been with me for 1 year and has always lived on a farm and happily sleeps overnight in her outbuilding. Mali gets on with other dogs however shows food aggression when eating (not towards humans). Fetch can also trigger high arousal in Mali when she’s around another dog playing fetch. Instead on focusing on the toy, she will chase the other dog and the overarousal can escalate into aggressive displays such as snapping and growling. Mali is driven by food making her a good candidate for training. Mali has never been around children. Mali dislikes the postman and will bark/growl at the postman but has never shown other displays of aggression towards anyone else. Mali does well at the Vets and will allow the nurses to check on her. Mali shows no interest in chickens and roams around them with no problem - Mali will occasionally chase cats if they run away from her and has never shown aggression towards them. Mali will bark at nothing if she is left outside alone. Mali does not chase vehicles. Mali happily rides in the boot of the car. Mali allows grooming but has never had her nails trimmed. Mali will lie down in the house and nap if the environment is calm and quiet enough. Mali needs someone who is able to give her lots of love and attention and someone who is able to meet her energetic border collie needs. Mali would be best living with no other dogs or pets and would make a lovely companion. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
