🐾 Winston is a 4-year-old French Bulldog boy with a soft soul and a quiet, endearing way about him. After being surrendered with Doris, he went into foster for recovery and assessment. What quickly became clear is that Winston and Doris are not actually bonded — in fact, they regularly clash over different things, especially food and toys. For their happiness and stability, Winston is now being rehomed individually.

💔 Rescue Story
Winston’s owner had difficut family circumstances, and both he and Doris were being left alone for uncomfortably long hours. With heartbreak, the owner surrendered them to give them the chance at a more fulfilling life. In foster, their true personalities emerged — and it became clear that Winston and Doris were not as bonded as believed, and in fact regularly stressed each other out.
Winston now deserves a home where he can feel safe, secure, and supported.
🐾 More About Winston
Winston is a happy , active boyo. He loves belly rubs, snoozing on your lap, and being close to his humans. He rarely barks — only a soft woof when someone knocks at the door.
He loves his walks, enjoys playtime with his humans, and is friendly with other dogs. With the right introductions, he could live with a balanced, gentle dog who doesn’t challenge him around food (needs to be fed separately).
His biggest challenge is food guarding. Winston becomes very protective around food, dropped treats, or items he perceives as “his.” In foster, he did snap and lightly bite when a child picked up accidentally dropped toast. Because of this, he needs a home where children are older, dog-savvy, and able to follow clear rules — or a child-free home.
Aside from this, Winston is an easy dog: house-trained, non-destructive, happy to nap when left, and playful in a gentle, goofy way.
🏡 Ideal Family
Winston needs a calm, structured home with adults or older dog-savvy children who can respect food boundaries. A person who understands bulldog quirks and can support positive training around guarding behaviour will help him thrive. He would be happy as an only dog but could live with a gentle canine companion after careful introductions.
A peaceful home, predictable routine, safe garden, and kind hands — those are the things Winston needs most.
💞 Winston is a sensitive, loving little man who wants nothing more than to feel secure. In the right home, he will blossom into a loyal, cuddly, affectionate companion with endless sweetness to give.
