Description
Our Gorgeous new litter of 8 Pure Giant Papillon babies in the nest ❤ The Checkered Giant, known as Géant Papillon in French, is a breed of domestic rabbit that originated in France. One of the largest rabbit breeds, the Checkered Giant is recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association. The Checkered Giant is one of the minority of rabbit breeds with specific coat markings. ❤ Photos of the new litter of 8 babies now added ❤ updated photos to be added at the weekend 20/21 April. Although a Rare Breed, we have been breeding Giant Papillon's now for several years 🥰 Ready to leave mid June 2024 😀 The Giant Papillon are a breed of rabbit as big, if not bigger than the Continental Giant 😮 Both Mum and Dad are home bred, and these kits are the result of several generations of selective pure breeding. We know their pedigrees. I check my messages daily 😀 Giant Papillon Babies 🐰 for reserve only please at this time. Please note: We like to leave our Giant Papillon baby buns with Mum for at least 12 weeks 😊 £20 none refundable deposit, bank transfer, will reserve your bunny. Balance of £100 on collection please. Diet should consist of 80% hay 🐰 Handled by us and the grandchildren under supervision! Both Mum and Dad can be seen. Mum is Sophie, a yellow/white Giant Papillon, and Dad is Brad, our chocolate/white Giant Papillon stud buck 🐰 Please note: WE WILL TAKE OUR BUNNIES BACK IF AT A LATER DATE YOU FIND YOU ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO PROVIDE CARE FOR THEM 😊 NO QUESTIONS ASKED ! 🐰 Nobivac Myxo - RHD PLUS 🐰 For active immunisation of rabbits from 5 weeks of age onwards to reduce mortality and clinical signs of myxomatosis and rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD) caused by classical RHD virus (RHDV1) and RHD type 2 virus (RHDV2). We are using the 3 in 1 vaccine, NOBIVAC MYXO RHD PLUS. We vaccinate to protect all of our rabbits, we are not a surgery, we do not provide cards, however we will provide vaccine information, type of vaccine used and dates etc., Covered for VHD1, VHD2 and myxomatosis. All vaccine is purchased via a prescription from the vet who visits, completes a health check and vaccinates for us. We also quarantine following vaccination for x 3 weeks as recommended by the Vaccine manufacture Nobivac. Babies will also be wormed with Panacur and have a spot on with Easimec before they leave for new forever homes, only as a health precaution. We have been hobby breeding for many years, and will also give you a care sheet and hand over food, we are always available for advice etc., Our rabbits are familiar with other pets, including dogs, cats and other rabbits, and all are well socialised! Both parents fully vaccinated and from good stock, so good size and type :) Currently living outdoors. We do have a comfortable viewing area, when we have tiny babies in the nest who are not fully vaccinated then the Rabbit Garden is not always fully open to visitors. This ensures that your baby bunny is 100% safe. Following many requests, we do now deliver bunnies only locally for £1 per mile, and will do our best to fit in with you. We do accept courier collections 😊 RWAF and Rare Breeds

Buyer's checklist for rabbits

1

Be responsible, do your research first

Getting rabbits is a massive commitment, so make sure you have researched all of their general needs, and those specific to their breed fully and have the time and commitment necessary to care for the rabbits. You can read our detailed information guide about rabbits for potential new rabbit owners. If you are looking for a rabbit to keep your rabbit company remember that they will both need to be neutered and that a male / female pair works best. Rabbits are a long term commitment as they can live up to 10 years.

2

Rabbits need a friend and space

Rabbits should never be kept alone, they need the company of other (neutered) rabbits. They need space to stand, hop, jump and run, and safe places for hiding. The absolute minimum space required 24/7 for up to 2 average sized rabbits is area 3m x 2m x 1m high.

3

Health check & welfare

It can be difficult for the average person to check if a rabbit is healthy or not. The seller should be willing to let you take the rabbit to a vet of your choice for a health check and return the pet within 48 hours for a full refund if there are health issues. If the rabbit has already been health checked, make sure you have this documented and phone their vet. Also remember rabbits need to be neutered so that they can live with other rabbits, and vaccinated annually to protect them against myxomatosis and RVHD1 and 2. Register with a rabbit friendly veterinary Practice. We would advise that you read the following article containing rabbit care and welfare information provided by the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund (RWAF).

4

Report, don’t support!

If you believe a rabbit may be subject to irresponsible breeding, do not “rescue” the rabbit by rehoming it. Walk away and report the seller to us immediately.

5

Rabbits must be 8 weeks when collected

Rabbits must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned before they can leave their mothers. Most responsible sellers will keep their rabbits longer than this before they let them go to new homes. Make sure you take some of the food with you so you can change over to your own food gradually.
