Description
This is Bonnie our lovely female Black Velvet chinchilla. She’s nearly 6 months old and we bought her to go with our older girl but it’s just not working out. We’ve tried them side by side for a few weeks then introduced them in a neutral cage but sadly they are just not getting along. My older one isn’t taking to her at all and it’s just not fair on her. I just don’t want to buy another cage as I don’t have the space for 2 separate cages.
She’s quite a chunky chin but very pretty. She could do with handling a bit more to fully tame as I find her quite difficult to get out the cage but this will get better with time. She will probably be much easier once used to you and in a cage of her own. She will make a lovely pet or ideal for breeder. She comes to the front of the cage for treats and takes them out of your hand especially the apple wood sticks, she loves those.
We will all be sad to let her go but it’s in her best interest to be rehomed with someone who can spend time with her and maybe introduce her to another chinchilla that isn’t as bossy as our other one.
