AVAILABLE DEVON AREA
‘Daisy’ in between a small & short
legged medium- Scottish terrier
type of 4-5yrs old- passive & quiet
girl.
U.K. fostered -2nd chance adoptions
Please meet Daisy in the words of her
foster & following on from that a word from the welfare. Her statistics & must
haves are also listed below.
“Life with Daisy
I am Daisy's foster Mum and I would like to
share with you an insight to her character
and life with us.
Daisy has had a poor start in life, filled with
neglect, abuse and ignorance, yet, her
quiet demeanour shines through. She is a
placid girl and has never grumbled,
growled or shown her teeth.
From day one, Daisy has successfully used
the training pads at night and not always
needed. She has not chewed anything
other than what has been provided. She
goes to her bed when asked, her appetite
is good and eats like a lady.
The outside world has much to offer Daisy.
She enjoys the garden and quietly greets
other dogs. Her lead responsive is very
good and only requires a little
encouragement to follow and explore. This
demonstrates an intelligence that, given
the opportunity, will develop into
something special.
It is lovely to see that Daisy is already able
to relax with an good old fashion belly rub
and back massage. This shows that she is
very open to building a bond. A shower
was greeted by a 'I'd rather not,' however,
she accepted it with good grace and
enjoyed an hour outside in the garden
shaking off and grooming herself.
As a foster mum and having adopted dogs
myself from Break the Chains for Dogs in
Bulgaria; the simple truth of my successful adoptions has been the gifting of my time and love.
Neglect and abuse are like weeds that smother and choke any joy or emotion
from a dog. Fear and anxiety take root. A
neglected cow garden full of weeds masks its
Potential. This is what happens to these
poor, unfortunate creatures. Gifting time
and love, pulling away the weeds, enables
undiscovered blooms that grow and
flourish.
Daisy just needs to find her forever home
and to be given the chance to bloom.”
From the Welfare
‘‘Daisy’ formally called Dusty by her
rescuer has been in the U.K. less than 5
days (at time of writing) & is looking for
her special person/s.
Rewind 9 months when she was first
spotted in a municipality pound in Europe
at risk & considered worthless. Daisy
was a write off - timid & unable to shine
next to the more outwardly courageous
dogs. She struggled to initiate the
affection she clearly wanted & deserved
if you just stopped long enough to notice
her- Daisy hugged the shadows & just
existed from day to day in her concrete
enclosure (she would later come to love
grass :). After many many long months of
being there she became matted &
palpably sad. During the 3-4yrs prior to
being taken to the shelter she’d clearly
like so many of her counterparts,
suffered abuse & neglect. In the same
way as humans persevere & persist
through their challenges & traumas this
atrocity does not define her. Daisy in less
than a week is already bouncing back
from the half decade of hell. My efforts
to focus on her amongst so many other
needy souls has been worth it. She’s part
of the ‘tangled tails’ mission & is now
looking so dandy & fine. I took the mats
off during her castration & found her a home in the U.K. This amazing gal who
has never had a single hope answered if
she dared to wish at all- never once
reacted to anything that was happening
to her whether grooming prior to
departure, being walked on a slip lead or
being handled & held in the arms of
strangers. Wee daisy was resigned as
well as docile. Whatever choices were
taken away from her she has consistently
failed to protect herself & never growled,
nipped or bitten. She’s the most adorable
& passive maiden. We thank the lady
(previous owner) who gave her an
opportunity to get to the U.K. & if anyone
would like to know why they aren’t
keeping her we can explain. ‘
