Description
Jasmine is a 5 year old, medium sized girl (16kg). Her breed, Hungarian Mudi, has just been recognised by the Kennel Club. Any potential adopters are advised to read up about the breed while considering Jasmine. She will need experienced guardians (preferably with shepherd dogs), who live in a quiet area.
She would like company at home through the day, and would be best as an only dog in an adult only home with no cats (calm, older teenagers would be considered). She needs a garden big enough for zoomies, and she’ll need walks which avoid busy roads and dog-busy areas.
Sadly, Jasmine is looking for a new home because her human companion died. Mudi’s form a strong bond with their person. They are a loyal, protective and intelligent breed (like most shepherd dogs).
This special lady is really very clever indeed! She has been trained in Agility and knows lots of commands and a few party tricks too. Jasmine loves using her brain, but also thrives on routine. She enjoys a reasonably predictable day, with humans who can be around for most of the time. Home workers or retired people would be best for her.
She settles well when left alone in the home, and doesn't chew or cause any damage. However, she will be so happy to see you when you return to her, and may decide it's definitely cuddle time!
New people in her home make Jasmine a little bit nervous, but she makes friends after a short time. She has met children and is not really bothered about them, but does like it when they throw her ball for her.
Jasmine can be quite worried about other dogs, particularly bigger dogs. She has been taught to focus on her ball rather than get stressed by other dogs, but needs her human to help her with this (hence why she needs an experienced guardian).
She is happiest when she can run around in a big open field, off lead (she has excellent recall), and not have to deal with other dogs in her space. Her new home would need access to such areas.
In all, Jasmine is a dog who needs to use her brain and who loves a good run around. She wants to feel safe in her world, she prefers consistency, and needs her human/s to help her with this.
