Description
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION. I AM WRITING IT HERE SO I DONT HAVE TO KEEP REPEATING INFO IN DMs
It is with deep regret that I am looking for a responsible and knowledgeable new home for my two (confirmed) boys, Aristotle & Midas.
I have raised these from tiny hatchlings and I absolutely love them, but my physical health makes doing their weekly water changes very challenging for me, and I don’t think I can keep up with it for the next 15 years or more (they’re only a year old- considered full adults at 18 months).
They are brothers, and get on wonderfully! If you keep them well fed they will continue to get along well. They both have their individual characters, with Aristotle (leucistic) being a real bottom dweller who always stays close to the ground and enjoys his privacy, and Midas (golden albino) being the exhibitionist, quite often walking on his tippy toes, enjoys swimming, and happy to trample and sometimes chew on any and all plants in the aquarium.
Included will be their full set up.
*200l tank (just under 3 and a half feet long) purchased from new at £200
*two custom made slate hides (originally cost £35 each)
*large piece of bogwood with aquatic plants all over it (bogwood alone cost £90)
*custom made Perspex half lid (£50 originally!!)
*pump and bubble bar (£60 new)
*Fluval 407 external filter - FULLY CYCLED!! (Paid £200+)
*sponge filter (can’t have too much filtration, and it acts as a backup)
*planter baskets with various houseplants (help to reduce nitrates in the water)
*extra large moss balls
*two layers of foam mat to go under the tank (this is absolutely essential to use to keep the weight distribution even and maintain the longevity of the tank).
Also included will be:
*API master test kit, with additional GH and KH tests.
*Extra filter media (rarely needs changing though to maintain the flora)
*Prime water dechlorinator (the only one you should EVER use) as well as other Prime products to help maintain PH, GH, etc.
*net- just in case
*any excess food I have at time of sale
*anything else I can find
It’s important to me that their new owners are knowledgeable. I don’t mind helping to a point but these are not an entry level pet, keeping their water at the correct levels required is not easy, so please familiarise yourself with their requirements and how to achieve and maintain them.
Great price for wto young Axolotls with setup & equipment which is only a year old and cost well over £1000. You’re getting a huge saving compared to buying from new, so please no offers. I would like the Axolotls to keep their setup as to keep their stress to a minimum.
Price excludes the sideboard the tank is sitting on. However if you would also like the unit too, you can have it for an additional £50.
